Entry 3 (week 2)

Hi guys.

So, this week i learnt about CALL. CALL? Obviously it is not the one when you talk to people using phone. Absolutely no. CALL stands for Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). CALL is basically an approach to language teaching and learning in which the computer is used as an aid to the presentation. This generally make the learning and teaching process more interesting, fun and easier to the educators.

There are 3 types of CALL: 1) Behavioral CALL, 2) Communicative CALL, 3) Integrated CALL

People believe that current technology gives many advantages for language learning. With that, we know that CALL programmers can provide student ways to learn English through computer which can make learning more interesting.

On the other hand, I was also introduced to 'search engine and database'. Some of you might already know about that topic but I am not familiar with that. Basically, Google and Yahoo are examples of search engine. Then we also learnt about parts of search engine (the database, the crawlers and user interface). Not to forget about dark web. It was quite interesting to know and learn about dark web. I might not need or use dark web but it was an useful information.

It looks like this.

The most interesting part was when I was introduced to pipl.com. A site where people can find anyone in the world by just type in their name or number phone. Awesome right? Maybe you can try later and find your crush's information😉.

Thanks guys.
